Germany - By the year 2021,diesel powered trains in Germany will be replace by a hydrogen-powered trains; this is so because hydrogen fuel is more cheaper and better for the environment(or environment-friendly).
Hydrogen doesn't emit harmful something that could affect the environment."...only emit water vapors during operation, making them an incredibly eco-friendly alternative to diesel that won't produce harmful emissions and worsen global warming" (Futurism)
This is the choice of Germany - hydrogen over diesel- for the above reason mentioned above.
The hydrogen-powered train will be built by "Alstom".Alstom is a German and French engineering company. It has signed a deal regarding building a hydrogen-powered train.Alstom will built 14 trains.
"Alstom said it will build 14 emissions-free trains, called Corodia iLint, that can travel 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) on one full hydrogen tank, and can reach a maximum speed up to 140 km/h (87 mph)". (Futurism)
The train will be the first hydrogen powered train in the world.
" "This day represents a real breakthrough in rail transportation and a big step change [sic] towards a clean mobility system." said Gian Luca Erbecci, senior vice president for Europe at Alstom."For the first time worldwide,a hydorgen fueled passenger regional train will replace diesel trains generating zero emission with the same performance as a regular regional train and up to 1,000 km autinomy.""
