United Kingdom - An undertaking to interfere or edit the DNA of unborn baby or "...the DNA of a human embryo,sperm,or egg..." (Gizmodo) before the baby will born is pursued.
The purpose is to avoid or eliminate heritable diseases such as "..sickle cell anemia,cystic fibrosis and hemochromatosis (excessive iron in the blood.." (Gizmodo); and to design the future characteristics of the baby as the parent desire for their babies.Thus,genetically modified babies are also called "Designer Baby".
The undertaking is to pursue the first ever world's first "Designer Baby".
The undertaking is said to be not immoral but "Morally Permissible" as approved by UK ethics council or by Nuffield Council on Bioethics(NCB).Genome editing is okay,it says.

Genome editing in the past is not eventually pursued but after editing the embryo is destroyed.There has been no yet genetically modified babies or humans born.
