Philippines - The Philippines' health department or Department Of Health (DOH) have urged the Philippines' movie and television office or Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to ban/block or remove smoking scenes on movies and TV programs and even photographs of a smoking scene of an actor or actress on movie and TV programs as part of their campaign to influence people to stop smoking and realize the bad consequence or effects of smoking a cigarette; for example to one's health.
The banning/blocking or removing of smoking scene on movies and TV programs is also aim to protect the youth from being influence to smoke a cigarette or take up smoking.
" We ask the MTRCB to consider censoring scenes depicting smoking in movies and TV shows,the way we asked them not to show scenes of bottle-feeding years back, " Philippine Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Ubial said
