"Stupid God" Says Duterte

Philippines - Blasphemy and blasphemous as what God-believers see the remark of Philippine President Rodrigo R. Duterte to God. According to them,President Duterte mock and insult God,and some of them want President Duterte to do a public apology and apology to God. Even other labelled him "Evil" and pray for President Duterte's atonement of his sins to God.

"One senator called Mr. Duterte "evil" and his remark blasphemous while other lawmakers hoped the President would atone for his sins,apologize and stop distracting the public from pressing issues with his rants." (Philippine Daily Inquirer)



"Speaking in Davao city on Friday [June 22,2018].Mr. Duterte questioned the basis for belief in God and the concept of the original sin."(Philippine Daily Inquirer/June 26,2018,Tuesday)

He says : " Who is this stupid God?You created something perfect and then you think of an event that would destroy the quality of your work.How can you rationalize that God?How can you believe him?So now we're all born with an original sin.Even in the womb,we already have sin.What kind of religion is that?" The reason for President Duterte's remark have somewhat connection and drawn from his young-hood experience with a Catholic priest where he was sexually molested.

"The Palace official tried to place the President's remark to context by saying it could have arisen from his traumatic experience of sexual molestation at the hands of a priest when he was in high school.""This is an issue that the Church should face and it must be really that by chance the victim is a President.".said Roque,who called for an investigation of abuse by priests." However,despite of the outrage of some on President Duterte's remark  about God,he remain unapologetic and defended his side or remark.

"Despite the outrage,Mr. Duterte defended his remark when he addressed village officials in Cagayan de Oro city on Monday [June 25,2018] night.

[He says :] " Your God is not my God because your God is stupid. Mine has a lot of common sense..If I choose not to believe in any God,what's the fucking thing about it? It's a freedom to choose one...I did not say that God is stupid;listen to the records...I said your God is a stupid God,my God is perfect.." (Philippine Daily Inquirer)

"Mr. Duterte,notorious for having cursed even Pope Francis and world leaders,has been unapologetic about the remarks he made in last Friday{June 22,2018]'s speech in Davao city,in which he took aim at the biblical story of creation,and questioned why God formed Adam and Eve only to allow them to fall from grace."
