America Leading On Supercomputers

Tech-World - According to news,America now owns and lead on supercomputers.America's supercomputer surpass the former leading supercomputer in the world which is China - the "Sunway TaihuLight".

"....After an era of Chinese dominance in the field [ "Nations are constantly jockeying to have fastest supercomputer in the world " (Futurism)],the United States has a new entrant,the Summit,that has already blown the competition away." (Futurism)



"Summit" is the name of United States supercomputer which "..... holds the world  record of 200 quadrillion calculations per second....." (Futurism)

" It is now,officially,the fastest supercomputer in the world.T/hat means its processors can go through more cycles per second (measured in FLOPS).which allows it to make a given computation more quickly than any other." (Futurism)

".......what a typical computer can do in 30 years Summit will be able to accomplish in  just an hour." (CNBC)

According to TOP500 list of supercomputers,the number 1 supercomputer as of June 2018,is the "Summit",second is the "Sunway TaihuLight".

The TOP500 "......ranks and detalis the 500 most powerful non-distributed computer systems in the world." (Wikipedia)

A supercomputer is a computer that can calculate more fast than a typical or common computer.

"Supercomputers are used for functions like forecasting weather and climate trends,simulating nuclear tests,performing pharmaceutical research and cracking encryption keys.Some initial projects on deck for Summit include researching possible genetic predispositions to cancer or opoid addiction." However, "The European Union,Japan and China are all developing machines they say will outperform Summit." (CNBC)
