France - Recently,France have been experiencing street violence that prompted some shops,restaurants,museums, and popular tourist spot like Eiffel Tower to close.
The street violence came from the protesters name " gilets jaunes" or the "yellow vests" protesters or "yellow vests movement".They protest "...against a sharp increase in diesel taxes."(BBC) and higher cost of living.
According to the reports,they rely on cars to go around,thus they protests against diesel taxes. and higher cost of living which they could not afford.They also complain against France President (President Emmanuel Macron)'s economic policies.
The protesters grew into a movement with various sectors of people,from working to middles class; to factory workers to unemployed; self-employed to retired people; all complained the higher cost of living.
