Recently, experts found an intact preserved human brain and vitrified from a remain of young man who is a victim of Mount Vesuvius’ eruption on A.D. 79 at the lost and buried city of Herculaneum in Italy. He was found lying face down on a wooden bed. He is believed to be on his 20s
.
The preservation and vitrification were due to the
extreme hot or heating and rapid cooling all together the news said and experts
said.
It “….retain cell membranes as well as internal
filaments, or structural proteins inside the cell, and tiny vesicles, or
internal sacs that help transport proteins to the cell surface. “(Live
Science)… as the news said.
“Preserved brain
cells have been found in the remains of a young man who died in the eruption
of Mount Vesuvius in A.D. 79. ……The transformation
to glass occurred as a result of extreme heating and rapid
cooling. "The results of our study show that the vitrification
process occurred at Herculaneum, unique of its kind, has frozen the neuronal
structures of this victim, preserving them intact until today," study lead
author Pier Paolo Petrone, a forensic anthropologist at University Federico II
of Naples in Italy, said in a statement.” (Live Science)
“The brain cells turned to glass after being exposed to an
avalanche of hot ash.” (Live Science)
“….."The brain exposed to the hot volcanic ash must first have
liquefied and then immediately turned into a glassy material by the rapid
cooling of the volcanic ash deposit."(CNN)
“The
researchers also found intact nerve cells in the spinal cord, which, like the
brain, had been vitrified.”(CNN)
“The man's brain, researchers state, had been vitrified into a black
glassy state after being exposed to extreme heat followed by rapid
cooling.”(National Post)
The main point : A dead young man’s brain has been preserved and vitrified
and remain intact until today due to the
condition present then when he was become a victim of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius
on 79 A.D.
