Something Hits Uranus

Outer Space - Recently, researchers at Durham University in the United Kingdom release a new research that will explain the evolution of planet Uranus and why the planet rotates on a tilt.

Research says that planet Uranus involved on cataclysmic collision with an object twice the size and mass of the planet earth which cause it to tilt and would explain the "...extremely cold temperature of Uranus outer atmosphere of -216 C ( -357 F)..."(SkyNews)

"The violent impact might also explain why the planet is so cold." (Independent)

The massive object is "..likely a young proto-planet made of rock and ice...."(Durham University)

The icy thing of the object might or have contributed to the so cold temperature of the planet.

The collision happens 4 billion years ago, according to the research and this collision help or have involvement on the evolution of planet Uranus when the solar system had its early years after its formation or while the solar system was forming.

Planet "Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun and the first to be discovered by scientists.Although Uranus is visible to the naked eye,it was long mistaken as a star because of the planet's dimness and slow orbit. The planet is also notable for its dramatic tilt, which causes its axis to point nearly directly at the sun.British astronomer William Herschel discovered Uranus accidentally on March 13,1781 with his telescope while surveying all stars....."
