Recently,early this August 2019, China have deployed its first Robot Traffic Police or " first batch of traffic robot police" (Global Times) in Handan - a city in Hebei province in China.The robot comes in three types.
The first type is a "road patrol robot"; the second type is an "advice traffic robot"; and the last or the third type is an "accident warning robot".
"The Handan Public Security Bureau announced the use of three types of traffic robot police.....The robots were developed using big data,artificial intelligence,cloud computing and laser-based navigation." (Global Times)
(1) " The road patrol robot, which resembles a traffic police officer in a yellow uniform and white hat can identify drivers and take photos of drivers' illegal behavior through its automatic navigation system and remind jaywalkers in Putonghua...." (Global Times)
(2) " The advice traffic robot works in vehicle management stations,and is capable of answering questions,guiding residents to counters and automatically reporting security risks and suspects to police." (Global Times)
(3) "The accident warning robot can remind passing vehicles when police are dealing with traffic accidents." (Global Times)
The robots or these traffic police robots will be on duty 24/7.
