Elevator To The Moon

Can you go to the moon without using rocket or spacecraft? That is the idea behind an elevator to the moon.It is a space elevator that will bridge planet earth to the moon.



The purpose behind it is that it will save money that will spent just to send people outside the planet or to the moon.It is more cheaper than launching a rocket or spacecraft that will go to the moon.

Scientists and researchers were or are studying materials that will fit for the elevator or space elevator that could resist and withstand anything that will cause it to fail due to celestial forces and  "space debris collisions" like comet or asteroid.They were studying materials that could survive in deep space.

" To build a tether capable of reaching tens of kilometers from Earth,an incredibly strong,dense,and flexible material is needed.This is because gravity decreases the farther away from Earth you are,so the tensile strength for the cable has to support roughly 5,000 kilometers (3,000 miles) of itself.Engineers thought the tether could be made of ultra flexible and tough carbon nano-tubes,but a study by Hong Kong Polytechnic University ruled them out this year. Creating a space elevator not only save money to go to outer space but can give us a mind set that we can now go off our planet or go to outer space and visit the moon or other planets for example which is no more a dream but a reality.
