First Teenager Millennial Saint

 

According to the news, an Italian boy teenager aged 15 years old is on his way to become the first teenager millennial saint of the Catholic Church which on his beatification recently wherein it was attended by his parents. The boy teenager name is Carlo Acutis. He died of leukemia at age 15. He use the internet,  as the news said to spread his faith in Christianity which is he is now dubbed as “the patron saint of the internet”.

“An Italian teenager who used the internet to spread his faith is on a path to becoming the Catholic Church's first millennial saint. Carlo Acutis, who died of leukaemia in 2006 aged 15, has already been dubbed "the patron saint of the internet". On Saturday, he was beatified at a ceremony in the town of Assisi and moved one step closer to sainthood.” (BBC)

 

“He is believed to be the youngest contemporary person to be beatified - the last stage before sainthood.”(BBC)

 

According to the news, he helps run or take care local Catholic organization websites and do charity works. He believed to do his first miracle when he saved another boy’s life.

“Acutis was placed on the path to sainthood after the Vatican ruled he had miraculously saved another boy's life. The Church claimed he interceded from heaven in 2013 to cure a Brazilian boy who was suffering from a rare pancreatic disease.” (BBC)

 

For Carlo to on his way to sainthood he must have a second miracle as the news said but the Pope can waive this requirement as the news said.

 

“For Acutis to become a saint, the Vatican would have to verify a second miracle in his name. But Pope Francis has waived this requirement on previous occasions.”(BBC)

 

According to BBC, the following are the steps to become a saint in the Catholic Church : (1)Wait a while- which means wait five years after death; (2) Become a “Servant of God” – which means one must live a holy life or serving God on one’s life; (3)Show proof of “heroic virtue”- which means one must live a good and venerable life; (4)Verify a miracle – which means one must have a miracle activity; and last (5)Canonisation – which means to reach this stage into sainthood one must have a second miracle.

 

The main point : In Catholic Church, as shown in the news, no matter who you are if you fulfill the requirements of being a Catholic saint you will be like Carlo Acutis who is just a young teenager but now on his way to sainthood.
