The Summit

Singapore - Last  June 12,2018 Tuesady,US President Donald Trump and North Korea Leader Kim Jong Un have met for a summit at the five-star Capella Hotel on the resort island of Sentosa at Singapore for a talks about denuclearization of Korean peninsula for US president to request "...the North Korea leader agreeing to shut down his nuclear weapons programme." (SkyNews) and human rights abuses wherein "...North Koreans live under one of the world's most oppressive regimes..." (SkyNews)




But "...Kim will not be keen to talk about human right abuses...." (SkyNews) but rather his concern and want according to news is - Economic Development.

"Kim doesn't want aid - he wants investment " (SkyNews)

"The North Korean leader's nuclear arsenal might make him appear stronger but he must deliver economic growth to preserve his rule." (SkyNews)

This is so because according to professor of international relations specializing in North Korea at Renmin University in Beijing,Cheng Xiaohe,Nortk Korea' economy is in a mess : " Generally speaking North Korea's economy is in  mess." (SkyNews)

"That's what Mr.Kim wants from the summit not economic aid from the US(North Korean statements have been scathing about the idea) but the opportunity to attract foreign investment.That requires sanctions being lifted." (SkyNews)

Sanctions from other countries or international sanctions that do not allow foreign companies to invest in the North Korea is the problem what North Korea leader Kim Jong Un wants to solve,that sanctions will be lifted so that economic growth will flourish in the country.

But will the two leaders will achieve their respective agenda on the summit?
