Plastic In The Stomach

Philippines - Another whale have found to have eaten plastic aside from last year wherein a whale also have found to have kilograms of plastic in its stomach from Indonesia and from Thailand,and now in the Philippines,recently.



The dead whale in the Philippines is found to have 40 kg (88 lbs) of plastic in its stomach "..... including 16 rice sacks,4 banana plantation style bags and multiple-shopping bags.." (D'Bone Collector Museum Inc./Facebook account)

Aside from what mentioned,according to D' Bone Collector Museum Inc.,they will release another list of plastics that they will found in the stomach of the whale.

In the Indonesia last year a whale also have found to have 6 kg (13 lbs) of plastic in its stomach and in Thailand the whale there have swallowed 80 plastic bags or 8 kg (17 lbs) of plastic bags.

In Indonesia,the whale have "...115 drinking cups,four plastic bottle,25 plastic bags and two flip-flops..... " Hard plastic (119 pieces,140 g),plastic bottles (4 pieces,150 g),plastic bags (25 pieces, 260 g),flip-flops (2 pieces,270 g),pieces of string (3.26 kg) & plastic cups (115 pieces,750 g)" " (BBC)

The blame on this incident is the improper plastic waste disposal or "plastic pollution" that reaches bodies of waters like the ocean where whales live.

How come beings like whale have eaten plastic? It is just an incident or the whale just mistaken the plastic items to be food thus it has eaten the items?
