Children As Sacrifice

Peru,South America -  Recent archaeological excavations has led to the discovery of the remains of children suspected to be a human sacrifice to the god or gods on the sire in Peru.

According o the reports, the children's chest were ripped open and their hearts remove in order to appease the god or gods as the reports said for an El Nino weather that strike the place.

Aside from human children, there are also Llamas or animals that were killed or also sacrifice.

As the report said, there are 140 children that were sacrifice and over or 200 in number of Llamas were killed also for the sacrifice.

According to the experts, the sacrifice is said to be the largest sacrifice to date in record in the world.

John Verano,a professor in New Orleans at Tulane University,Department of Anthropology said ." It's the largest child sacrifice event in the archaeological record anywhere in the world. And it's the largest sacrifice with llamas in South America. There's nothing like this anywhere else."

"While incidents of human sacrifice among the Aztec,Maya, and Inca have been recorded in colonial-era Spanish chronicles and documented in modern excavations, the discovery of a large-scale child sacrifice event in the little-known pre-Colombian Chimu civilization is unprecedented in the America- if not in the entire world." (National Geographic)

"The 140 scarified children ranged in age from about five to 14,with the majority between the age of eight and 12; most were buried facing west, out to the sea.The llamas were less than 16 months old and generally interred facing east, toward the high peaks of the Andes." (National Geographic)

"The skeletal remains of both children and animals show evidence of cuts to the sternum as well as rib dislocations, which suggest that the victims' chests were cut open and pulled apart, perhaps to facilitate the removal of the heart." (National Geographic)

The Sacrificial Site :

"The sacrifice site, formally known as Huanchequito-LasLlamas,is located on the low bluff just a thousand feet from the sea, amid a growing spread of cinder block residential compounds in Peru's northern Huanchaco district less than half a mile to the east of the site is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Chan Chan, the ancient Chimu administrative center, and beyond its walls, the modern provincial capital of Trujillo."
