Typhoon is one of natural occurrences
in our planet that causes devastating outcome, catastrophe, calamity, disaster,
and fatality. Typhoon is a circling great waters and wind or a cyclone of not
only wind is rotating but also waters. When a typhoon strikes your area, here
are some preparedness guide you can follow.
A. Before A Typhoon Will
Strike
1. Know and monitor weather updates and alerts.
2. Prepare your flashlight, battery-operated lamps, battery-operated
radio, and candles and matches ready and handy in case of power outage or if
power is off.
3.Check anything in your house that can be fixed like for
example loose-nailed roofs and that should be secured like if for example your
roofs are properly nailed.
4.If one has pets, secure them in a safe place.
5. Know a nearest evacuation place and evacuate immediately
if one’s local government orders so.
6. Make and have your “lifeline” or so-called “Go Bag” that
contains essential items that can last for 2-3 days or more if it can.
B. During
A Typhoon Strike
1. First and foremost, stay at home or on a safe place.
2. Second, do not go to work or travel cancel all such
activities.
3. Wear warm and dry clothes like sweater.
4. Do not wade or try to walk through water or flood in
order to avoid catching disease or being electrocuted.
5. Secure all your belongingness or things especially
electronic devices.
6. Keep your food and water covered and sealed.
7. Keep lighted candles and gas lamps away from the reach of
children and pets.
C. After
The Typhoon Have Strike
1. Leave only the evacuation place if authorities tell it is
safe to go home or to return back home.
2. Before you enter your home or house, if you return, check
it first if it is stable and safe.
3. Don’t plug in and use appliances that are been wash by
water or flood or that are flooded.
4. If one has vehicle, check for any damage on it cause by
the flood.
5. Keep monitoring and updating oneself of current news of
the typhoon and if there is another new typhoon.
6. In case of mosquito breeding, remove water from
containers accumulated from the flood or rain.
