Flying Cars From Japan

Japan - Recently,Japanese officials and transportation company executives have met for a project that Japan is drive up high,that is,the flying car project.

Japan wants to develop a flying car in the near future,as the report said,probably year 2020 and onward.Japan want to commercialize the vehicle and be on the market.

Japan is partnering with companies like Boeing,Airbus,All Nippon Airways,Japan Airlines,NBC,and Toyota Cartivator.

"Japanese government officials are partnering top companies including Boeing and Airbus,as well as major Japanese firms like All Nippon Airways,Japan Airlines,NBC and Toyota-backed Cartivator." (Straits Times)

The purpose of the concept of flying car or flying car project is to solve transportation problems.

" " (Flying Cars) are expected to solve issues of transportation in remote islands or mountainous area,or rescue operations and goods transport in disaster."........ we launched the public-private meeting to cultivate a new industry [ that is the industry of flying cars or flying vehicles ] and make it profitable in the world market." However,Japan is not alone on this concept and project.

"But Japan is not alone in the flying car marketplace.Companies researching the sector include Uber,The Kitty Hawk project backed by Google founder Larry Page,Lilium Aviation in Germany,Safran in France and Honeywell in the US.Last month,British engine maker Rolls-Royce revealed plans to develop a hybrid electric vehicle,dubbed the "flying taxi",while Kitty Hawk in June offered test flights to people interested in buying its vehicle." But there are hurdles on the project as the report said.Major hurdle is safety and some battery life and regulations.

What Is A Flying Car?

According to the Japanese government official in charge of the project Fumiaki Ebihara .:" A flying car is defined as aircraft that's electric,or hybrid electric,with driver less capabilities,that can land and take off vertically....They are often called EVtol,which stands for "electric vertical take off and landing" aircraft. All the flying car concepts,which are like drones big enough to hold humans,promise to be better than helicopters,which are expensive to maintain,noisy to fly and require trained pilots.." What Will Do For Japan?
