In China, the craze brought by so-called “blind boxes” wherein one receives
a mystery box containing an animal through post which according to the news has
gain popularity have causes anger among people concern to animal welfare for
the recently transported live animals were found dead.
The live animals are suffocated and starved to death inside a courier
truck inside a wrapped box. These live animals are cats and dogs particularly
kittens and puppies. According to news, there are 160 kittens and puppies were
rescue on the city of Chengdu on a courier truck by a courier company ZTO
Express. The rescue group who rescues the animals is the Chengdu Aizhjia Animal
Rescue Center. Four of the animals were found dead while 38 of them were found
sick while the rest were safe according to the rescue group.
Transportation of live animals in China is illegal but it would not stop
the craze.
“Despite the transportation of live animals being illegal in China, local
media found the mystery boxes to be very popular. But the incident has
infuriated people on Chinese social media, and individuals are now calling for

have become a shopping sensation in China in recent years. The total blind box

by 2024, twice the size of the current industry, according

ZTO Express have already
issued a statement of apology.
